Hello
I am a 48 yr old young lady that has many health issues. Long story short. I have severe heart issues that have left me unable to work. I am a widow with no life insurance and only STD from my employer for a limited time.
I need to find housing assistance and help with electric/ water ect... I do not want to go section 8 I MAY be able to have a single wide home ( possibly) given to me but I would need assistance with lot rent, electric water ect.
I am having a difficult time navigating the system and not sure where to turn. I am staying at a awesome mans home until October but really need my own place.

Where do I start?? any help appreciated.

I live in Polk county and I didn't see a Polk county section (Lakeland Fl ) here in City Data forum.

I am sorry you haven't received any responses yet. I personally wouldn't be able to advise you, however, I'd suggest you post in the general Florida forum, where you are more likely to hear from people in the Lakeland area. Also, have you applied yet for Social Security disability?

Try the Google, it will answer your questions far faster than posting here...

Polk County assistance programs | Lakeland

Good luck.

Maybe try the Lakeland Housing Authority or some local non profits and churches. Hope this helps.
