This is my fifth year of teaching, and I'm hoping, my last. Like so many other posters in previous threads, I have had enough.
I have a C.A.S. and certification in early childhood with a special education endorsement. (I teach in a blended preschool classroom.) I also have a master's in professional counseling, but I don't want to go into the counseling field either.
Help! I can grit my teeth for the next five and a half months, but I can't stomach having to go back to my school next September.
I dislike being hit (kicked, pinched, hair pulled, etc.), working in an atmosphere where colleagues are backbiting and fearful of administration and having to implement practices that I don't believe in and wouldn't want my own child subjected to.
I'm looking for something where the job stays at the job (no strong emotional investment), colleagues are respectful of each other and I don't come home physically, mentally and emotionally drained every day.
Perhaps you could work in a library? There are research components to that and organizing is necessary too.
