Nice article in the current edition of Tennessee Home and Farm:

It’s not easy keeping a century-old bakery alive, but Cindy Day seems to have mastered the task.

Day is the owner of the Dutch Maid Bakery in Tracy City, which was founded in 1902 by Swiss immigrants John and Louise Baggenstoss. Housed in an old brick building with charming hardwood floors, the Dutch Maid still beckons passers-by with the aroma of fresh-baked bread and friendly small-town service.

Tenn. Home and Farm, published by Tenn. Farm Bureau, is also a good resource for local recipes & events. You'll find many other interesting pieces in the magazine's archives.

There's a print version they send you if you're a member of the Farm Bureau.

No real "requirements" (just a small membership fee). Most people are members because they're either farmers and/or because they have insurance with them. I've had my car insurance with Farm Bureau since my first car.

If you just wanted the magazine, you can probably take out a subscription. I'm not sure it worth that however.

Just joined the forum and as editor of Tennessee Home & Farm magazine, glad to hear these nice comments.

Thought I might share some information as to how you can receive the magazine. The print version is distributed seasonally (four times each year) to current Tennessee Farm Bureau members. Annual membership is $25, and to sign up, you can contact your local Tennessee Farm Bureau office.

But anyone can access the website, and we will soon be launching a companion food site - focusing on Tennessee restaurants, food blogs and more great recipes from our chefs.

Hope this helps! If you would like more information, feel free to contact me at thaf@jnlcom.com.
