After reading the thread about Publix. I figured someone may know about White's. What is the story with their markets? Are they shutting down?. In Johnson City we have Kroger- which is great- White's is just so mediocre; I wonder how they stayed in business?

I don't think we even have a White's in Nashville (I've never even heard of it and I've lived in middle Tennessee most of my life). We have Kroger's, Publix, Food Lion, Hills, and a few others.

I believe it is locally owned here in the Tri-Cities region. I agree, I don't like the one at all in Gray, but the one in Pinney Flats is nice. They have really good meat for the price, and a meat cutter on site but not a place I would buy produce. They stay in business because they are some of the cheapest prices (on some things) around.
