There is an awesome book called "Touring the East Tennessee Backroads" that I bought for my husband for Christmas a few years back. It's chock full of photos, destinations, museums, outdoor attractions and wonderful day trips in the entire East TN region. You can find it at Amazon.com:

last year for my husband
I got it at the Farm Bureau
it's photo's by Robin Hood

there is also a magazine (I have never seen it, you get a card advertising it when you get your tag renewal stuff)

Ken Jenkins has some great books with awe inspiring pictures of Tennessee, mainly eastern Tennessee.
