A note about child care facilities and East TN...unless it is in a city, and even then..there aren't many of them. I moved from Fl where there were 4 or 5 day care centers per town/area. When I moved to TN I needed child care for my youngest. There was ONE child care center in the town, there was a waiting list and it was over crowded and not good, this was in Jefferson City.( But I found the same situation in Greene County and in the Tri-Cities areas too) I found out the reason for this. Many people are from here and have relatives and non working family members take care of working families children. This is wonderful for the kids as they get to play with their cousins during the day but if you don't have family here, it was VERY hard to find child care. I did find a wonderful "Granny" who watched my youngest while she watched her two grandchildren and it was a great arrangement for us. But I found her through word of mouth and she was also our landlord, so we found a place to rent and child care at the same time, which was a God send, but it was through word of mouth. The other is that most elementary schools have before and after care, which is nice, unless you were a parent like me that hated the idea of your children being at school for almost 12 hours a day.
I would suggest that you do a yellow pages search in cities/towns/areas you are thinking of moving to in TN for child care centers and then send your resume, see what happens. Or if you are able to get licensed with the state for child care in your home and then put an add in the paper, you may get busier than you would think. There are a lot of people who move here, like I did, who need child care and can't find any.

The best place in TN or any state, or the world, is wherever I am.
