The popular Cades Cove Loop Road in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park will re-open on April 24 —about a month earlier than expected.

When I was in the mountains yesterday I saw a sign that said Clingman's Dome Rd was closed until May twenty-something but I don't know if that's normal or about something they are doing this year. It was in the mid-70s yesterday and I saw a family having a snowball fight on a small patch of still existing snow. A lot of people were in the Park yesterday but the trees are all still looking naked and blah. They are also doing road work in some spots so if you are diving through, don't go too fast. They stop traffic and let one side go through and then the next side.
