Seriously rent for a while and not long term. You are better off looking through local papers and trade papers for a rental. A lot of rentals are by owner around here and that's not a bad thing. There are plenty of carpentry jobs but many don't pay well. My wife is a nurse and so I can say there are jobs as well in the nursing field but Tn does not pay nurses nothing like Fl. I live close to the Smokies so that's the areas I'm talking about. Look before you leap. Make it a vacation staying in motels or something and look closely at GA, Ky, SC and if I ever move from here, NC.

I dont necessarily think that you cant find someome to rent to you if you're unemployed. People want to rent there properties, regardless. Just make sure to be honest and straight forward about why you're there and how long you'd like to stay.

Again I think Georgia is a better bet as far as something quick and No im not "promoting" my home state just because I'm moving back there lol

Of Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Johnson City, Johnson City is the smallest. Check out Jonesborough (outside Johnson City). Very low crime, small (~6,000) and Johnson City (only about 5-10 minutes away) has some of the best hospitals in TN.

That depends on where you live in Florida. I live in Panama City and UT pays 5.00 more an hour.

Have you been to Sevierville,TN (http://www.pigeon-forge-gatlinburg-family-git2know.com/sevierville.html - broken link) ?
It is a small town. There is always a lot of construction. It has a small town atmosphere. Schools are good. Low crime. The only drawback I can think off is that it is a tourist town and you have to deal with all that that brings during the season...June. July August. are the "crazy" months. The rest of the year is not that bad.
