El Paso is ranked the second safest city in the country, which is where I'm living for another week. But I'm glad to be going back to D/FW.

I saw last week some survey determined it to be Plano, but I didn't read about their methodology. Friendswood is pretty good, especially for being close to Houston. I am originally from the Golden Triangle, so I know it is not one of those cities.

El Paso despite all the trouble in Juarez continues to be one of the safest and in some years the safest MSA over 500K population in the whole U.S. I would not call Plano a city - a suburb of DFW sure, but a city? Only in the most nominal sense.

It really could be a city. Dallas is not the center of its metropolitan area.

Are we to just take your word for this assertion?

Dallas dropped to #3 in terms of cities over 1 million people with the highest crime rate... after San Antonio (#1) and Houston (#2).

Dallas now has third highest crime rate of cities with over a million people | DALLAS CITY HALL Blog | dallasnews.com

Safe cities are boring. Live a little, get a house in the hood.
