Seems to me people have their priorities out of wack. They have enough money to buy that case of beer every week or daily pack of cigs, but they don't have the money to buy a .75 cent condom?
Hey it doesn't matter anyway because I'm going to pay for their free medical care, food stamps, and free education all because they can't take a little personal responsibility in their lives....BS!

I really don't think the mess Texas is going to find itself in is related to family planning.

The most important part of that whole article (which was mostly mocking Texas politicians for being stupid) was -

"Right now, the state is wrestling with a fiscal megacrisis that goes back to 2006, when the Legislature cut local property taxes and made up for the lost revenue with a new business tax. The new tax produced billions less than expected to the shock and horror of everyone except all the experts who had been predicting that all along.

Governor Perry blames the whole thing on President Obama.
"

Texas has no money and is run by a moron.

Thank you! That's what I got out of the column also.

Our taxes are based on the conditional. Right now, they are likely going to suspend the tax free weekend around school time. Headlines were touting this as a 3 billion dollar savings. How in the world can they know this? What if nobody spends any money?

All that common sense reporting by the NY times has done wonders for it's circulation numbers.
