Yes. I think of Steve every time I drive through Selma or actually hear the name Selma. Like Rodney too, even though he's now divorced from Country Royalty.

George is definitely King George. Bob Wills put the Texas in country and George brought it back. I will say though, I'd gladly trade 70s/80s pop country for the bro stuff plauging the radio now. I want to love Willie and I like a lot of his stuff but I'm not really a big fan, sorry Kathryn!

The country these days is TERRIBLE! The 90s had some great tunes though.

Even though he's not Texan, my fav is Dwight Yoakum. His Thousand Miles to Nowhere reminds me of George Strait, no?

Willie and George are the Prince and King of Texas country.

On a serious note.... is there a singer that All Texans like?
And when I say all, I mean more than 80% of Texans

I just don't see that happening, I think Texans are very diverse in their taste of music.

Everybody OUGHT to like George Strait - at least ONE George Strait song, right? I mean, it's not like we don't have a wide variety to choose from.

I thought everyone in the world liked this song:

Agreed, I think 80% of music-knowledgeable Texans like George Strait. That's why I think he's the King of Texas. The "Don't Mess With Texas" campaign had him do the commercial for them, so I think they would agree, too.

Well, I've never seen a "George Strait for President" shirt - but I've seen plenty of "Willie Nelson for President" shirts.

So I guess if you like, George Strait can be king of Texas and Willie Nelson can be President of the United States.

Every state in the Union has gathered enough signatures on petitions wanting to secede for these petitions to be presented to the President.

Even so, just like in Texas, the percentage of those state residents actually wishing to secede is minuscule compared to the overall population.

Get your facts straight if you're going to try to discuss Texas issues with Texans.
