One of the ultimate ironies to me about an Oil & Gas major like Chevron is it would have its headquarters in the San Fran Bay area. What an unlikely place for them to be based. There was a time when there was lots of Oil & Gas in California but in LA but that's been years ago but with Silicon Vally so dominant in
San Fran along with an intense dislike, if not hatred for folks out there having anything to do with fossil fuel. Those guys really need to go someplace where they would be accepted and supported and even admired like Texas which would probably mean Houston.
It doesnt make sense to me either that Chevron has it hq in the Bay Area.I agree with you that Houston would be better for them.

Denver is probably the one and only large city/metro area outside of Texas in the US that still has a significant vestige and culture of the O&G industry which would atleast be ambivalent towards the pesense of large a O&G majors headquarters and of course Denver also has a major international airport which would be necessary.

Oil is still a major industry in California and there are oil wells located in neighborhoods all around LA and SF. They most assuredly don't hate oil in CA, it's just not the only game in town.
