I hare Trump but I'm a young dude and I'm disappointed by how many people (young and old) who want massive government.
Really, what have you got to lose? (To borrow a Trump phrase). Your generation has been screwed by the Great Recession and now this!! The Boomers are laughing at you.

I pray these under 40's that you loathe so much get out and vote against your interests.

They are not the scum you make them out to be. You collect a guaranteed check every
month as a retiree if you are because your government representatives looked out for
you and your rights.

Do you actually know anyone under the age of 40, or do you ever casually try to get to
know anyone under the age of 40 to find out their situations?

I am almost 57, mom of a 25 yr. old who lives independently and I live in the most
conservative part of East Texas. I speak to young people everyday. I meet them
working at stores and I read indeed.com to study the jobs available and how much
they pay, etc. I have full confidence in our younger generations. They are smart
and they very concerned about their future.

I'll have you know that rich white pharma lobbyists are happy to flood the streets
with their dangerous narcotics marketed to kids in order to line their pockets.
Raise their corporate tax rate and they make sure you do not get elected. If you
were under the age of 40, what on earth would the Trump administration offer
you as a voter? Trump leading the GOP has all the credibility of a crazy old
man wearing a bathrobe standing outside yelling "You kids get off my lawn!".

Your above quoted post says it all. Get rid of ALL the old dinosaurs who have entrenched
themselves in government for over 30 years. That is the swamp. All of them.
Please do not assume I am (1) Republican, or (2) pro-Trump - I really can't stand the guy and never have. I did not vote for him.

But yes, I am rapidly losing faith in young people. They're great on sociocultural issues (race for example), but awful on government economic policy. Their claims of economic victimization and entitlement to some cushy standard of living, at their age, are ridiculous. And shame on their parents for having raised them with such opinions.

The amount of misinformed smug is truly delusional. Can’t counter the substance of a discussion or answer a straight question to save your life.

So you admit you're full of misinformed smug? I demonstrated to you in DM, and you agreed with me, that it's mathematically provable that younger people work harder for less money than previous generations. Your answer is "that's their place in life". How is anyone supposed to take you seriously?

Given that rational, morally upright adults who appreciate capitalism and our Constitution know that economic prosperity and a given standard of living are not "owed" to anyone and particularly young adults, and that living in the world means there will be both good times and bad times economically, I'd say your attitude makes you difficult to take seriously, or frankly as a credible voice that should be included in U.S. or Texas policy discussion.

Also, a large chunk of the people you're referring to have had a cushy middle class and up upbringing. I know these people from college who were arguably kind of spoiled but are hardcore socialists and even communists. It's just trendy, and something that people want to be a part of to fit in.

That's why white gentrifiers in urban areas vote for the furthest to the left candidates in the primaries.

So you admitted work doesn't really correlate to financial success, which is supposed to be the appeal of your ideology. You admitted that your system has enriched a couple generations at the expense of a livable planet for generations after, just to say "so?". There is nothing "rational" or "morally upright" about that.

It's more because they have friends from other socioeconomic backgrounds (I grew up white trash amongst all that), have traveled to the Developed World, and understand the basic physics of environmental degradation.

Communism has never been good for the developing world
