Really? Can't find Nac? Oldest city in Texas and you can't locate it. Home of Steven F. Austin University and you have no idea where it is?

Are you living in Texas? How long have you been here if you are in Texas? A native Texan? I'm not a native (not born here) but I think I can pretty much pinpoint every city in Texas with a population > than 5.000 (and prolly > than 2000).

observation: Your spelling sucks. So does your pronunciation.

I've never been to either town but I'll share my thoughts. You will probably find more horse people in the area that surrounds Weatherford. Both areas are likely very conservative, Nacogdoches might be moreso, especially with Fort Worth growing out west. I believe Naco is more liberal than other east Texas towns though.

Overall, Weatherford is just a better town. It is safer and nicer. If you want walkability and more amenities it is close to Fort Worth for all of that but far enough away that I don't think the city affects the town all that much.

Weatherford is slowly becoming a suburb a Fort Worth though so maybe looking more towards Stephenville would be a good idea? Afaik there are lots of horse people around there. I have been multiple times and think it is a nice town.

One major difference would be that Nacogdoches has significantly more racial diversity. That's also why Nacogdoches is also considerably more Democratic (if perhaps not 'liberal' in a Bay Area sense) than Weatherford which went 70%+ for Trump.

Nacogdoches County went 65% Trump and Parker County (where Weatherford is) went 81%.

Wow!

I'm surprised Naco is more Democrat but I guess it has a lot more blacks and mexicans and they tend to vote Democrat more often than not.

Grew up in Weatherford, I would definitely recommend it. And sorry for the people giving you a hard time with the spelling of Nacogdoches. Spellings and pronunciations are quite a touchy subject here. After all, we have a Pittsburg, Texas (without the H") and Italy, Texas pronounced "Id-Ly, but that's for another threat.

Yea don't worry about spelling. Nac's sister city in Louisiana is Natchitoches. That is NOT pronounced like you would expect.

Dude, it was humor. His spelling was horrible, so I played off of that. I've been to that town many times.

Calm down Hoss.

Nacogdoches has a large university, which tends to attract liberal-minded people.

Weatherford only has a small junior college.
