You should feel for everyone, because if you (we) will not, no one will feel for you (us) when we need it.
The man is being punished for his crimes by sitting in jail, there is no reason to torture him like that.

Living out in our society is mental punishment for a large segment of our population.

The gentleman in question doesn’t sound to me like he is just a misunderstood soul; he is (or was) a dangerous felon and prison seems like a sensible place to keep him. Keeping someone confined to a 6 x 9 cell for 23 hours a day with no social interactions sounds like an earthly version of hell. There must be someone smart enough in the Texas State Prison System who can figure out away to treat him more humanely and ensure he is not able to escape again. I think he has a legitimate grievance about the conditions of his incarceration.

sorry no symphony for dilholes and crooks - its not about torture its about paying the price for crimes and providing safety to the law abiding citizens - those of us who support the rule of law will for for those who need it unless they break the law

you see living in a civil society requires one to act and responsible for their actions and if not pay the price

if not then we end up like most 3rd world countries with unchecked crime and devastation

as one said do the crime pay the time IN JAIL and i dont care if is 4x9 cell and you sit there 23 or 24 hours a day - i care more for the victims who lives are torn apart

I did not call for releasing him from jail.
There is a difference between punishment and torture and I am very sorry for you if you cannot tell the difference but still talk about civil society. quite embarrassing

He was probably FINALLY sentenced to a long prison term and then did something in prison afterward and ended up in solitary confinement. Link didn't work for me so I am guessing.

I found this article and here's an excerpt from it:
Quote:
Mr. Hope was sentenced to 80 years in 1990 for a series of armed robberies and landed in solitary after he escaped from prison in 1994. He eluded capture for about two months, during which he stole a car at knife point from an 83-year-old man and robbed four grocery stores.
Oh and here's another one:

Quote:
Hope purchased a Jaguar for his girlfriend with money stolen during robberies in Dallas, Texas.

While on the run, Hope sent imprisoned convicts letters about life on the outside.

Hope impersonated armored car guards with fake ID cards and uniforms. He picked up tens of thousands of dollars in cash deposits.

During one getaway Hope calmly strolled past a police officer parked in a patrol car at the entrance to the grocery store he had just robbed.

Dont be sorry for me - i care more about the victims and what they had to endure due to his crimes than his comfort. If we could put the SOB in a hot house that would be good too.

I am all for him staying in prison but not sure about almost 30 years of solitary. There must be more to the story than what is being reported. Usually happens with media these days.

As someone else said, the punishment should always fit the crime and usually it never seems to happen.
