It's not going to happen any time soon because most of the population boom here in the metroplex growth will continue to be in Denton, Collin, and Rockwall Counties. Denton and Collin both will grow to over a million in population in both counties. DART rail is the key for Dallas to get denser inside Dallas County along the Red, Green, Blue and Orange Lines. Dallas has that to its advantage to continue to grow even though Fort Worth has been growing at a higher rate.

I think this would be unlikely considering that Dallas continues to grow rapidly. Fort Worth is growing as well, but not quite as fast.

NO because Dallas is now starting to pick up in growth itself and most of it is urban and dense growth.

How so? Because FTW went through the greatest growth it ever went through? Dallas went through this as well 40 years ago and it slowed down. Fort Worth will do the same. Not to mention that most of Fort Worth's growth is suburban.

As previously stated, Ft Worth has much more land for growth and more neighboring vacant land. Dallas is fairly landlocked. Ft Worth is gaining density downtown like Dallas is. It seems to be inevitable, but we'll see....

Fort Worth doesn't have the name recognition, business, sports, etc., to surpass Dallas. Dallas is not going to sit back and allow themselves to become #2.

They will be landlocked too. That is inevitable. Fort Worth can just dream on about surpassing Dallas.
