Most of Fort Worth's growth is coming from all of that annexed land, and turning them into massive suburban communities, which explains how the population is growing so fast. The majority of Dallas' growth is coming from the central area of Dallas and making Dallas more dense, but not as fast.

You realize none of that stuff has anything to do with it's growth right? It's name recognition comes from the Metroplex. Dallas's success is Fort Worth's success, and vice versa.

Increasingly Fort Worth is gaining the name recognition, businesses & sports & etc, to surpass Dallas. Dallas is going to have to sit back and watch themselves become #2......muuhhaaahhaa

Dallas is big enough to have success on its own too. It has 1.3 million people in the city alone. If you ripped away Tarrant County, you could make the eastern half of DFW Airport the city's airport and the Rangers and Cowboys could survive in Dallas or a suburb and it would still be a major city and major metro area. Six Flags could go somewhere too. Heck you could leave the suburbs in Tarrant County alone and still take out Fort Worth and Dallas would still be big. Don't forget about Denton and Collin county. Tarrant County could be like what Orange County is to Los Angeles or like what Galveston and Fort Bend county is to Houston.

Fort Worth has no teams in the major leagues and it does not have international recognition like Dallas does. In fact, I talked about Dallas once with someone in New York and they had never heard of Fort Worth, but they had known about Dallas all their lives.

Yes, people forget about all of that land to the southwest. Definitely an option for Dallas if Fort Worth doesn't start recognizing where its place is. Plus they can grow the city limits past some of the suburbs. Heck, Fort Worth already has, like it has done with Benbrook and some of the other southwestern suburbs.

There is empty land in Southern Dallas County, Dallas could annex the land.
Dallas already streaches into 5 counties.

Here is a picture of Dallas county, red is Dallas, the red part separtared from Dallas is Lake Ray Hubbard.

Yes and people all across the world would be asking?? Fort Worth, where is that?? When they have known it as Dallas for years. Fort Worth doesn't have the recognition and it doesn't have a good enough name to be known as number one. Dallas' name is flashy and catchy, Fort Worth sounds like some army post. BTW, are you going to annex Arlington and Grand Prarie too?? They seperate the two cities.
