As far as I know it is still being investigated. What's left to discuss until some new details come out?

The Media got bored.

Of course, the issue is ongoing; Toyota is handing recall work around the clock, there's still a lot of back and forth around if the fixes are correct, and the total is now like 11 million effected vehicles worldwide, but the Media has moved on.

Where has it been proven???

I think the 1 runaway is being considered a hoax, but I seriously doubt that every incident reported so far is.

If it has been proven to not be the car's fault why is toyota doing so much with recalls and such?

It doesn't have to be the car's fault for the automaker to step in. The Ford Explorers were fine, owners drove them on under-inflated tires from Firestone and had problems, and Ford stepped in to fix the problem. Congress stepped in and now all new cars have TPMS.

The Toyotas actually have some problems, be it a computer problem, wiring problem, or pedal design problem. Toyota is fixing the problems with a couple options.

do your homework. So far every one has come up as driver error.. no software issues, no pedal issues.. Nothing.. Thank goodness for the black boxes.. A few examples are.. The Lexus that was going down the ca highway over 100 and 4 people tragically lost their lives, the rav4 that hit a building, the housekeeper who crashed the prius, the runaway prius on the ca highway.

Like Frank says, all the ones that the media grabbed on were proven to be either the floormats, idiot drivers, or drivers looking to make a quick buck or two. Now that they have been exposed, the issue has gone away.

Better go back and do your homework. The 100+mph Lexus in CA, that killed 4, was blamed on the floormat. However, at the top of page 28, the police report shows that it was not fully investigated. There are still too many unanswered questions about that crash. It was not blamed on driver error by anyone except Toyota fanboys.

to bad Im not a toyota fanboy(whatever that is) I just know what it right is right..

Go back and reread the whole report. The final outcome was the floormat.. period.. One a report has been issued, the investigation is over.
