I think the most I've driven for a long weekend is 6 1/2. I was thinking 11 hours. Perhaps I should reconsider, heh.

I think my threshold is around 5 hours.

With that said I can't remember the last time I've taken a road trip anywhere though.

You you leave on a Thursday and return home on a Monday? And you'd have Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the vacation place?

It depends. If it's like a family reunion, 15 hours.

14 hours, have done it several times. Even for just a day trip, we have done 5.5 hours each way.

With 2 or more people it can be cheaper then flying (no rental car) and in many cases the trip is very scenic. I also enjoy driving.

For a 5 day weekend 8 hours each way, for a 3 day weekend about 5.5 each way. I don't live really close to anything, it's an hour to Target, two for Trader Joes and two for a great BBQ place that's only open in the summer.

I drive seven and half hours one way fairly regularly as I'm in a long-distance relationship. Flying is an expensive hassle, getting significant blocks of time off are challenging due to the nature of my work and I enjoy driving, so for me to drive seven and half hours after working a nine to ten hour day is a no-brainer. Just did it Super Bowl weekend (worked Saturday, spent Sunday through Tuesday with my S.O. then drove back Wednesday to be back at work at six a.m. Thursday morning). It's also far less stressful for me if I get stuck at work (this is a frequent occurrence) to *not* have to worry about missing a flight. If I'm driving, I get to my destination when I get there and stop as often as wanted or needed.
