Travel and Vacation are two different things for us.
Travel is for learning.
Vacation is for forgetting.
according to the rules, we should only choose ONE type:
Vacation. we need to forgive and forget more than learn.
Certainly not for relaxation. Travel is a full-time job, finding frugal choices, working out local logistics, dragging my weary old body around, being constantly alert to unexpected change. I can relax when I get back to the routine of home and my easy chair.
I alternate activities - if I have a busy day out sightseeing the next day at least half of it will be relaxing on beach, at the pool, etc. I don't want to totally veg the whole time but I definitely don't want to arrive home more tired and stressed than when I set out! I really do carefully balance things out - not just for myself but my travel partner as well can get overloaded if every moment is "booked".

Yep, especially social groups with locals outside of your usual circles. I like doing language exchanges, internet makes 'em easy to find and there are always people looking to work on their English over a beer or coffee. Great way to learn a lot about a local culture while making some friends along the way. We got into badminton in China, there are badminton clubs that meet in public parks and that's something that has (relatively) cheap equipment and is exercise without being too competitive or exhausting. Have a group of locals here in Thailand that goes fishing regularly out in a reservoir, it's catch and release (which kinda sucks) but not sure if I'd want to eat fish from local waters anyway.

I always did physical things on vacations to relieve all the work stress. Lots of ski trips. Visiting cities around the world was always part of business travel. As I’ve aged, I’m more interested in a mix of relaxing and visiting places.
It's amazing how many I've met who travel and never learn anything new. It ls listed in the title, but not in the poll choices, except coupled with other completely unrelated goals in both of them..
