I mostly travel to experience another culture. My favorite trips have been to Iran, Morocco, several countries in South America, and three in Africa. When I go to places like Europe, Australia, etc., I really enjoy the trip, but I don't get the same jolt of stimulation I get from being dropped into a place that's a lot less like home.

I've never been able to figure it out, how to relax on a vacation. I do know how to do that at home, but not away from home.

The type of explorative vacations I take I'm usually exhausted by the time I fly back!

I travel to learn something, which I cam do by sitting on a busy park bench, or strolling to the shops for ice cream, or giving school children a chance to practice their English.. Which answer is that?

Why no 3rd option, which covers a good chunk of travel: Option 3 - business/work related.

Thanks to Chris Hansen, the US is the only country on earth in which the police are called to the crime scene if a conversation (or even eye contact) takes place between an adult and a child.

After a lifetime stressful career in design I always travelled to relax by the ocean. The most exploring I do is take photos of the ocean and plants for some future artwork. Relaxing got my vote. I may change things up a bit now in retirement, but I wouldn’t count on it...
