Two words "STEP FATHER"
Sadly, the second mom starts dating, the odds of a girl being molested go up something like 40 fold. A pedophile will wine and dine and even marry mom to gain access to her children.

May she rest in peace....

These bastards that kill young children (and people overall) need to be dealt with accordingly. Give me 5 mins alone with them & ill do the right thing.

Also, the stepfather was unbelievably crude in his response to his stepdaughter's absence.
He said something like "She better get her a$$ home" Nice.
Not a normal response from a parental figure! She was missing. And the terminology was to me sexual in nature. A father - or stepfather has no business making any reference to any part of an adolescent daughter's anatomy, that is private.

EVERY THING IN NEW HAMPSHIRE is remote!

ALL of his brothers and cousins are registered sex offenders?

Nice family. Great choice of husband for a woman with a teen age daughter!

Correct me if I am wrong, is it true that if a body is in the water, DNA and other potential evidence is/can be destroyed?

No I don't think so. If there is any DNA from semen or skin left by the killer, it would not be compromised by water only. NH is a pretty cool state in terms of temperature and these people lived by the Canadian border, from what I have read, cool water would actually preserve the integrity of the DNA.
