I like to keep the following bookmark handy; did you ever see this one... The Economist magazine named Mount Lemmon one of the Seven Best Rides in the World:

Wilma, with all due respect, you absolutely need to move back to Arizona! You are truly one of the best ambassadors for the great Southwest -- and especially for Tucson -- a place you love. We'd be very happy to have you here.

Hahahaha, thank you; and yes I have been in love with Tucson for 37 years. I spend my mornings with the local Tucson news online and days reading books on Arizona-related topics, such as these recently:

Almost an Island: Travels in Baja California
https://www.amazon.com/Almost-Island.../dp/0816519021

Field Man-Life as a Desert Archaeologist by Julian D. Hayden
https://uapress.arizona.edu/book/field-man

and

The Stratigraphy and Archaeology of Ventana Cave by Emil W. Haury
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...f_Ventana_Cave

The first two are truly fun to read; and the last one as you can imagine is pretty heavy going, but still -- Emil Haury...

I'll get there one day; I'm always there in spirit. :-)

This is our first winter in Tucson and after almost 5 months we love this place and plan to return next winter. Why? It's beautiful here - the mountains and desert scenery are magnificent. The city is easy to navigate so it didn't take long to learn our way around and where the things we're interested in are located. We've found that people in our RV Resort and the town folk are warm, friendly and receptive to us newbies. We're close enough to PHX so driving there isn't a problem. (Heading to the NASCAR race there next month.) People say they hate the traffic here but I'm retired and can choose when to drive. That said, even when stuck in rush hour, it's not really not that big of a deal for me.

We're located in southwest Tucson and like this location. It's close to the Interstate which makes accessing other parts of the city convenient unless you have to travel to far east Tucson. Almost everything we need is a short drive for us and only rarely have to go there. In my opinion, you won't go wrong choosing Tucson.

No way did I want to live in a megalopolis of 4.5 million people. I'm 25 miles south of Tucson and that's still too crowded.

Exactly right...I remember reading a story about a Tucson lady years ago already, where she had to move away to the east coast -- and said she cried every day until she got back. The last photo in the article was her on her pony disappearing around the bend in the dry Rillito bed into the sunrise.
