Hello All,
I was wondering what the commute would be like from Sahuarita to Tucson during peak rush hour. I currently live in So Cal and I'm looking to get away from the crowds and long commute. I work as a field engineer so I'm used to at least a 40 to 50 minute drive. I'm checking out various areas of the southwest trying to find the right blend of cost of living versus traffic etc.. Any thought on relocating to Sahuarita would be appreciated!!

I don't think I'd be worse than that to most parts of Tucson, but let's hope some Sahuarita resident chimes in.

I live in Rancho Sahuarita right now and work over near Tucson International. It takes me about 20 minutes to drive from my house to my office. I take Old Nogales Highway in lieu of I-19... it's a bit slower, but not too shabby.

Wow 20 to 25 minutes during rush hour. Man that sounds great to me. Thanks for the reply TucsonTaco. I probably should come out and take a look around. My company does have an office there, so job issues shouldn't be a problem

I don't know if you read the whole thread but I said I work in the field, so I am used to a varied commute. I'm not sure why you are referencing San Diego. I live in So Cal which is basically the Los Angeles area which is about 90 miles north of San Diego. Which has a hellacious commute to anywhere. A couple of times I had to work in the valley which is about 40 miles away from Long Beach which is where I live. It took me 2.5 hours to get home which is insane. If a drive of 20 to 30 miles is under an hour you're doing real good.
I read various forums about traffic and I almost have to laugh. I know that anytime someone sits in traffic it sucks, but you really have to try So Cal's traffic to really get an understanding of how bad it could be. I would like to quote internet studies, but don't have any links handy. Last time I saw something on MSN it said the Southern California had the worst traffic in the nation. Just posting my thoughts, not trying to be pompous.

I just wanted you to know where the airport is. If you'd be working in that area or if you don't mind spending hours in your car (you must know by now it's all surface-street traffic unless you utilize I-10), it's obviously your own business and I'm not gonna steer you away from your fun!
Referenced San Diego because the airport happens to be in the heart of the city.
Never landed there, but find it somewhat scary...
To me Sahuarita is a strange choice (particularly if you don't have a family), but that's me.
