I am going to have the fortune of living on Old Spanish Trail, but have found out that there is no "usual" high speed internet provider there. Cox, Qwest, Comcast, etc. does not provide internet where I'm living, so I'm looking for alternatives. I know I could do "Wild Blue" and Hughesnet but looking for something a little less expensive and perhaps more local. Anyone out in Vail know of something ?

You see, if we go by your definition of Vail, I live a few hundred feet East of Houghton, so I live in Vail... Who knows why, though, I get Cox.

Just pulling your tail. Unfortunately, I can't help you. However, I CAN come and see those giant eggs!

See is these folks can service your area.
Mod cut: No links until 10 posts Sulpher Springs Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc.
They use Motorola Canopy wireless technology. It's what I am on right now. It smokes!

Update: Century Link finally had a line open up (Apparently only so many of us can be attached at the same time?) So I have had decent speeds, around 1.5 MB per second. Before that I went with Cricket's plug in internet and got around 800 K/sec Cost wise those were the best options. Verizon 4LTE service is supposedly available where I am now, but I don't like the fact that they are limiting the amount of data you can use. Until then, I'll stick with unlimited at slower speeds.
