Im wanting to move to Tulsa from a couple hours away where i live, I've went to Riverside while in Tulsa visiting family or going out for the weekend, And i really liked it. My question is,is it safe and how is the budget there on the apartments?

Try one of the websites like rent.com or realestate.com. Perhaps a Tulsan will chime in with better info than I can give you.

The riverside area is a great place to live IMO. I lived on 41st and riverside back in the early 80s and loved it. It's even better now with the enhancements they've made (with more to come).

Honda, are you talking about the river parks area? I wish we'd have spent more time there cause I liked it around there, too. The only thing I can tell you is that one of the zip codes is 74136. I like this site for apartment searches~

Tulsa Apartments for Rent - OK on ApartmentGuide.com

I also like rent.com like Synopsis suggestioned.

This one is a pretty good one, too~

Here's a crime map~

Sorry that all I have is info I've gathered since all we did was drive around there. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Riverside is an awesome place to live -- especially with all of the renovations at River Parks. The neighborhood I'm in -- Brookside -- is one of the most vibrant in the city, with art galleries, boutiques, and some of the best restaurants in the city. The border is Riverside (west); Utica (east); 31st (north) and roughly 46th St or so to the south. I say roughly because a lot of realtors out there are trying to say it extends down to 51st (for the cachet), but it really doesn't.

I love living here. The houses are older and mostly smallish. Quite a few are being renovated. We've had the odd car break-in here and there, but nothing major. Would also recommend that you not live adjacent to Peoria St., as there are some bars and restaurants and people tend to park in front of the houses and make racket when they leave, etc. (May not be an issue to you, but it is to some).

As for apartments on Riverside (which extend all the way up north and down south) they are a mixed batch. The Lincoln Park apartments at 18th and Riverside are decent and gated. There are some townhomes across the street from this complex on the non-river (east) side that also are nice (they frequently have for rent signs in front). Victoria Park townhomes are a little further north and they seem very nice -- ?? There are some newer complexes to the south and they seem nice, although there is a huge new casino at 81st and Riverside. Would be a drawback in my book.

My ds used to live in a group of apartments on Riverside right at the 21st bridge. They don't look like much on the outside, but the inside was very very nice - 2 brms, wood floors, retro fixtures -- very "vintage" in feel. His only complaints were occasional traffic noise and that people used to tramp through the complex on their way over to the River's Edge bistro (although it's closed down now). He never had a problem with crime - no car break-ins, etc. He rented from Grey Fox properties.

Hope this info is helpful.

Thank you very much for all of your reply!!(Especially you Brookside.) Its very helpful with my decision having people who actually live in that area telling me about it.
