merle the old man who does not wana hurt anybody got killed. he is a real ACLU guy but it does not work when a suppressed minority (zombies) wana eat you. merle went down protecting zombie civil liberties, good man, yum yum.
By chance do you mean Dale? The old man who got killed taking a walk at night and stumbled on to the walker chewing on a Cow?
Merle is Daryl's racist redneck brother who go away.
Lori and Carol are in a race to the bottom as my least favorite characters. Of course Lori is winning after her latest outburst. I was hoping she would just come out and admit that she still loved Shane and/or that he was the father of her baby when she got all pissy with Rick over what happened. I mean, didn't she act like she wanted him dead just a couple of episodes ago? Then she's either loving up to and forgiving Shane or maniupulating him depending on where you stand and now she's mad at Rick for surviving a bad situation.
Carol trying to turn Darryl against Rick. If she thinks it is a good idea to ride off on a Harley with Darryl then so be it, but luckily Darryl isn't stupid and looks like he is allied to Rick. Even Glenn started mouthing off to Rick, but I guess he has a point. What if one of them had passed away in the house from natural causes and no one knew about it? Say if the suicidal girl took a bunch of sedatives from Herchel's stash. So I guess I can see Glenn's point even though I was annoyed with him at first. Even T-Dog looked miffed. Great show. Gonna be a long summer.
I can see the ending now, everybody's trapped on the farm, walkers closing in on all sides and then suddenly...Merle swoops in on a helicopter and whisks everybody to safety!
For a second there when I saw the helicopter in the beginning I thought my prediction would come true!
I just think that considering what they have all been through that all of them are on edge. It's natural to blow off steam at each other, as in Carol wanting to leave. Darryl is smart, a hunter, good zombie killer so his show of loyality is going to go far in Carol's eyes. We have to remember that although this is a TV show, emotions and nerves are on high right now.
The helicopter scene confused me, if people can fly helicopters why can't they get some bombers up there and burn/bomb the cities?

You can't win a war with just air power. You have to have boots on the ground and Walkers out number the living like 300 to one. That and it we wouldn't have much of a show if they wiped out all the Walkers
The group's escape from the farm reminds me of the ending to Poltergiest. In that movie the family thought they were safe from the entity only for it to come back so much stronger that it literally destroyed their house and they could never go back. All the survivors, sans Andrea, fleeing in cars in the middle of the night and knowing they could never go back to the farm had that defeated and depressing tone like justlike that movie.
I just hope this show isn't like "Mad Men" where we have to wait a year and a half for the next season
