She had a one nite stand, a seeming revenge fling, with a guy she met in a bar. She was by herself and they did it in a closet in the back of the bar. There was then speculation about her baby daddy.

Yes, I remember Betty's one night stand. A one night stand that seemed so un-Betty-like. I remember thinking she was acting like Don. She probably felt empowered by this even if it was on the sleazy side.

What do you mean, "not really"?

She laid down on a lounge couch in a ladies room that was located in bar and had sex with a man who looked vaguely like Don.

And, in my book...an emotional affair is just a person grooming themselves and the person they're cheating with emotionally, to hookup physically. The reason they probably didn't sleep together was because Henry was scared that it would mess with his job in the Mayor's Office. It didn't have anything to do with Betty being "good".

Do you think Cutler's doctor was the guy who invented power bars and 5-hour energy?

Quacks like Cutler didn't come into being in the 1960's and those high energy cocktails he administered had been in use for a while before 1968. They were popular among ML ballplayers already in the 1950's. In "Ball Four" Jim Bouton wrote about Mickey Mantle being knocked out of the Yankee lineup because of an infection he developed as a result of receiving one of those Vitamin B shots from a shady doctor. Bouton didn't state what year that took place, but they were last teammates in 1964, so it had to have been before that.

The doctor is based on Dr. Feelgood, sometimes called Miracle Max (Princess Bride reference!).

He was JFK's doc, giving him those shot 34 times while in The White House. He was based in New York City but the fed moved in and confiscated his huge stash of drugs. His medical license was revoked in 1975. He killed one of his patients with a lethal dose.

Jacobson was known for his "miracle tissue regenerator" shots, which consisted of amphetamines, animal hormones, bone marrow, enzymes, human placenta, painkillers, steroids, and multivitamins

Max Jacobson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Right, Miracle Max had slipped my mind. Long before him there was Dr. Theodor Morell, Hitler's personal quack. The last ten months of Hitler's life he was a methamphetamine addict as a consequence of Morell's post assassination attempt treatment of Der Fuhrer. He had Hitler taking 28 assorted pills and receiving one injection on a daily basis.

After the collapse of Germany and Hitler's suicide, Morrell's records were captured and they included the formulas for the substances being administered to Hitler and it was this fantastic list which included amphetamines, atropa belladonna, atropine, caffeine, cocaine via eyedrops, , methamphetamines, morphine, strychnine, sodium barbitone, testosterone....... and vitamins.

The Nazis who spent time around Hitler in his final months all reported his behavior becoming erratic, explosive and fantasy inflamed. Most attributed it to the pressure Hitler was under from seeing his 1000 Year Reich coming to an end after just twelve years, we now know more.

Yes, and the highly touted "vitamin serum" has probably been the downfall of many recording artists in the early days of the industry. It's so sad when artists trust a manager or their management team to look out for their best interests and then are betrayed by them.

Darcy??? I'm having a hard time seeing him in that role. He'd be much better as the reverend who wants to marry Jane, but marries her friend instead. Who knows? I can see him being proud and aloof. But isn't Darcy taller?
