I don't think they knew her. She didn't get to sing with MJ in front of a live audience, and they may not have seen her during the memorial (or did not recognize her if they actually saw it).

Ok, thanks. I think they all hit their button the quickest for her than anyone else so far..... I have to think that if MJ wanted her to sing with him, she had to be pretty good.
What is amazing is that Shakira was pregnant at the time and we can't see it! (her baby was born in January)
It just occurred to me, this means they've been working with their teams for 6 months before the first live performance, right? I always thought they did pretty good for just having a week to prepare.
