They seem to be showing more auditions that didn't make it this season. It's really uncomfortable as they keep singing and realize that no one has turned and have to try to hit that last note with a lump in their throat.
It bugs me that they name one little thing as the reason they didn't turn, and it's fixable. Isn't that the reason they are coaches? To fix the small things? That good ole boy country singer stayed on tune, had a nice tone to his voice, and was very likeable. Why not choose him and work on the rough spots rather than choose someone nowhere near as distinctive or strong?
So far I can live with everyone they've chosen. None of the coaches has inexplicably chosen a complete dud yet this season.
Admittedly I was switching back and forth from this to another show during the second hour. The impressions I took away from yesterday were that greater segments of time were spent on the coaches. I thought the NBC site used to put up all the contestants and then identify if they were chosen or eliminated but I could not find it tonight.
While I like Gwen, I agree with NYSinger that yes, it is a bit much and just hope it does not get to the point of nails on a chalkboard.
I guess the PTB know what they're doing...and I am very glad Alicia Keys returned.
My favorite so far is actually the big guy with his homemade guitar that only Adam turned for. He doesn't have a distinctive voice, but the combo of his phrasing and his guitar with his emotion grabbed me, just like Adam.

Christian and Billy were my favourite singers last season, so I'm hoping someone impresses me as much...
