A friend said he thought he heard or read that Missing was only meant to be a one season show. Does anyone else know about this?
If it is, which is interesting... It could make for a whole new way of seeing TV shows.
That would be in interesting situation. When you consider the British have been doing this for awhile, each year a story, where if there is no more you don't have dangling inticements, but if there is, you've gotten attached to the characters and want to know more.
Upstairs Downstairs was produced in seasons, and whatever the 'theme' was for a season, it was mostly concluded. It would be more like waiting for the next book in a series over waiting for part two of a cliffhanger. With something like Missing, it would work. Her focus is finding her son. But say it ends with her finding and getting her son. But he's older and wiser and his eyes wide open. What then? Does she go back to being a housewife? This leaves mystery, but something common in literature which is commonly about a *chapter* in life, not all of it.
I thought I read/saw an interview w/ Ashley Judd that said that there will not be a cliffhanger and everything will be resolved, just in case. I could be thinking of another show...
I also saw/heard where Ashley Judd discussed the show having been filmed in it's entirety before it ever aired as a 10 show series. Although....it could be extended further if they so chose. So it should be tied up nicely, but also could continue of it worked out that way.
I actually like that it was planned as a one time series.

Killing off Michael would be a nice touch. I find him even more annoying than Kim Bauer.
PS - Now I know that in real life the CIA can run rough shod over other countries, but please, acting like local cops on the beat, waving their weapons in the locals faces....Puleeeze!
