It's about time. Kids are sexualized too fast anyway, and putting a five year old in something which displayes it as if it was a good idea is just plain wrong. Girls do not need to grow up thinking how they look is more important than what's inside.

Mom probably is fighting a losing battle, but not just because its a small town. Quite a few consider these contests wrong. Normally a child that age who displayed adult sexual behavior would be assumed to have been sexually abused. Learning it as a norm as a small child itself is staking them out as bait.

I'm sure the court will monitor the father, given the nature of the case, and the girl is now 'in the system' until she grows up for real. But whatever mom thinks, she is doing her child no favor by making her 'take me' bait.

Interesting. I've watched a few episodes, but not in a while. It was when that devil-child Makenzie was on. Anyone know what's happened to her?

Wow. So . . are they going to make all children who participate in pagents a ward of the state?

While I do not agree with pagents; this seems kind of reaching to me. Where has Daddy been all this time? Did he pay child support?

I just don't know. ALTHOUGH - had Mom been smart - she would have toned down the pagent activity once she realized it was going to be an issue. She didn't seem to be able to do that.

While I've made no secret of hating these shows, I do think this is taking it too far.

If she was going to lose custody because she dressed her 5 year old up like hoochie momma and paraded her around on national TV I'd back the Dad.

I think there's more to this. KY is pageant land, I really doubt they'd take the kid away just because of that.

All the parents on that show should be locked up for exploiting their children.

Hell yeah. That show disgusts me. I can just picture a bunch of pedos grabbing their buckets of popcorn every week to watch this show.
