I just found a website that claims to know how much the coaches make. Blake and Adam make "only" 13 mil per season (two seasons per year) and Xtina made 17 million one season! No wonder they can't afford to pay the contestants.
I hate that too. What are the contestants going to say about their coach who they might be working with again the following week? Certainly nothing critical, nothing controversial. All they CAN say is blah blah wonderful blah blah talented blah blah kind. It gives me the heebie jeebies.
And for the coach's speech, I seem to remember they used to be more honest. Maybe I'm thinking of another show, but they would try to be kind while telling them what they need to improve on (ie earning the title COACH). I don't hear any of that the last couple of seasons.
I've never listened to NIN before. What's another good song I should youtube?
I'm a huge NIN fan. I'm not a big concertgoer, but I've been to five of their concerts. I would recommend
The Hand That Feeds
Closer (most awards)
The Perfect Drug
Head Like a Hole
Pretty Hate Machine
And All that Could Have Been
Discipline
Only
Those give you a good overview. Some of their music is explicit, so if that bothers you, search for the edited tracks.
Hurt was a great song for Aaron, even though he ended up in the bottom two again. I don't think it's because he lacks talent. I think it's because he sounds so similar to Brendan, but Brendan edges him out a bit in his performances. It's really strange. When the top 11 show first started, I actually thought, "Why doesn't anyone sing a NIN song on this show? I would LOVE to hear one." Then the gods of industrial metal rained "Hurt" down on me. Sweet!
Sorry - not a NIN fan at all. I didn't think that song was at all enjoyable to listen to. And honestly, I don't think NIN has much wide appeal, so their songs would not normally be the type I would expect to hear on this show.
Billy was forgettable, Christian was boring, We's talking was a bit too awkward in the song and the opera style at the end was okay, and Sundance was good but I'm sick of mixing religion into the show to get votes, and Ali was great but the song choice was meh.
I think they should cancel the rest of this season. Courtney needs to go. Aaron probably needs to go. Austin deserved to go this week. Billy, We, Ali, and Sundance can remain for the finals and send everyone else home a week early.
Courtney was out of tune again. Josh and Billy were boring. I loved Christian! I think Aaron would have been better if the back up music had been quieter. I couldn't hear half his notes, especially the low ones.
Team Adam — Billy Gilman, Josh Gallagher, Brendan Fletcher
Brendan is now my favorite. Agree with above. I don't want to hear about religion.
