How many closeups of her face/eyes are there in the new episodes?
Far too many. I've had to actually start looking away during those closeups. They're kinda like "nails on a chalkboard" to my eyes. And good grief, how many closeups did we need of June scrubbing blood off of her hands, face, etc.??? There was hardly any plot in episode 1, just shots of June.
Episode 2 was only nominally better. The ballet/funeral scene dragged on too long.

Way too many. The facial contortions are unpleasant to watch, not sure why the producers are so into these throughout the whole series.
That said, I'm more interested in the psychology of each of the characters and how they react from the beginning of Gilead up to now. It makes sense what they did to Fred, that was one of the first things the handmaids were taught to do.
I'm reading the Testaments now and really enjoying the backstories of Aunt Lydia and others.
In the beginning of the series, I was amazed with how effectively she could emote with just her eyes. I remember watching the first "ceremony" scene, and just being astounded by how she could be so expressionless but still convey such horror and fear. She really is talented in that way.
But the directors lean on it waaaaaay too much. It's comical and distracting now.

Yeah, it is getting kind of excessive.
Still a great series though. I've only watched S5 E1, and it seems to be ramping up to be a good season. Glad to see the arrogance knocked out of Fred, literally. Next Serena needs her smack down.
It's a shame that the trauma these women went through, is keeping them from moving on with their lives after escaping Gilead. I'd want revenge as well, but seeing how powerful Gilead still is, taking out a Commander here and there, really isn't going to do much.
I think only a Nicholas Cage movie can rival this for facial close ups.
I am in the "way too many" group.
I am tempted to rewatch with a stopwatch.
