AfterMASH was a MASH spinoff starring Harry Morgan, Jamie Farr, and William Christopher. It had decent ratings its first season, but CBS moved it opposite NBC's The A-Team the second season and it died a quick death.

It was a horrible idea....take the three least interesting characters from M*A*S*H and follow them in peacetime. I'm surprised it even made it to a second season.

Time Magazine made up a list of the 100 "Worst Ideas of the 20th Century"....mind you, not the worst ideas for television, the worst ideas for anything.

After M*A*S*H made the list.

I don't remember it, not even vaguely.

I remember it, and it wasn't as bad as some people think. They actually had some decent stories, but.. I think the problem was that it shifted to be a drama. Spinning off a drama from a comedy.. Doesn't often end well.

Remember it was a top-10 show it's first season.

Now.. I don't disagree that it was a bad idea, because it certainly was.. But as for as it being a bad show.. Not really. It was pretty well done.

Oh.. And characters that everyone was fairly well sick of by that time. Kelsey Grammer playing the same character for 20 years or whatever it was is the exception, not the rule.

I didn't like it and quit watching after only a couple of episodes. It was like taking pretty good baseball players and putting them on a basketball team and hoping to compete in the big leagues.

"AfterMASH" was a "dramedy" in the style of "MASH". I agree it wasn't that bad. I read that CBS tinkered with in the second season.

I didn't even like the last several seasons of MASH let alone that lame show.

I remember it, but I don't remember particularly liking it. We watched, because of the connection to the characters but I don't think it was much of a loss when it was canceled.

I do remember liking Trapper John, M.D., though. Different actor, of course, and I'm not sure there really was that much in common with the character in that show and the character on MASH. But it was a pretty good, if generic, hospital show.

Well.....if those three were identified as the "three least interesting", that would leave everyone else, wouldn't it?
