Hi, I am confused. My tier one will expire in Jan. 2012. With this new two month extension will I automatically go on to Tier 2?

Thanks

You are correct, it is expiring before the new cut off date of the end of February. So you advance to tier II. If an extension was not agreed upon you would be done...

Im going to be going into Tier 4 the second week of January. I will be able to do this now because of the two month extension right? I live in NJ.

I'm currently on Tier III and would be set to go onto Tier IV probably sometime in early February...so after advancing to Tier IV, where would I stand once that runs out (possibly sometime in March)? Keeping this impending possible EB extension in mind, would there still be EB in NJ at that point?

Possibly for a while, depending on lookback. Won't know until Congress extends legislation in February. If Congress does not extend 3-year lookback, no EB in NJ. Even if they do, it will phase out. Too much unknown at this time.

I guess I did kind of ask the same question twice, didn't I? Lol. In any event I appreciate the help.

The job search continues regardless....now with a little more intensity.

hi how are you doing? I have one quick question. I exhausted my 26 weeks of unemployment. I'm single and dont have any kids so I didnt file for any benefits. When I filed my last unemployment claim on Monday it said a notification will be sent to me for extended benefits via mail. From my understanding I fall under the EUC for the tier I. So for me to get extended benefits for tier I, thats automically filed? Do I have to do anything to get the extension for 20 weeks, Tier I? Only reason I asked because Ive been calling the nj unemployment office 24/7 and keep getting the busy signal. Thank you very much and have a wonderful day

I believe you automatically get placed into Tier I once the initial 26 weeks from the state are exhausted.

Just keep claiming as you normally do. The NJ computers take care of it.
