Hi There,

I've worked under a contract ( With a W2 ) for a company for about 8 months and my contract with this company doesn't end till 8-9-2011. Previously, I was unemployed before this for 10 months.
As I hit my 8th month with my contract, The company that I work -with-, not for, is making us sign new contracts with a different company because they want to be exclusive to just one contractor for all of us, but the problem is, this new contract may only be for 6 weeks and we may lose our jobs if the next 6 weeks with the new contractor doesn't go well. That would put me at a total of 10 working months, Working since November of 2010. Would I be eligible for Unemployment if I do either of these things:

A: Stay with my current contractor if they let me and the project then ends / Ceases life? I work for a Recruiting company who put us in this current job I'm at, but it's all contracted - I do fill out W2's, Taxes, Etc.

B: If I go to the new contractor and it only lasts 6 weeks and they terminate the project, Would I get unemployment even though I only worked for them for that 6 weeks?

I'm an assigned worker and my current contractor has no work for me outside of this job. The other company that wants to hire us has some local work by me in IL, however.

The reason I don't want to sign the current contract is due to it being a Non-Compete contract and I wouldn't be allowed to work for any Selected Business, in this case, for 1 year after the date of termination. Any information would help!
