I've decided to take out a student loan to go to a community college since no one wants to hire me. I have no other experience, training, or skills which makes me unhireable. (You probably wouldn't hire someone if they only have a high school diploma and no other things to help you get a job). I've thought of writing to earn some money, but it would be hard for me to come up with my own material. (I don't wanna steal other ideas because this doens't make me original and to avoid the possibility of getting sued). So, what do you folks think?

I decided to go back to school and started in October at a tech. college. I do not have a degree just experience and in today's market you need both. If and when a full time job comes around I will change my school schedule around my work schedule.
Good luck!

What are your interests? What can you picture yourself enjoy doing for the next 30 years?

Just going to college with no clear career goal will not guarantee you a job. Before you set your mind on a major, check out job boards and see what majors most jobs are hiring for. Sociology may seem fun in school but there's not many jobs requiring a sociology degree.

Sounds like you like writing. Start a blog and write about your interests. Write reviews on restaurants, movies, music or anything. You dont have to steal content when you're writing about your own opinions.

Good for you. I think the American obsession with college graduates is a bit ridiculous. Neither of my parents are college grads and they have their own business. You honestly don't need a degree in order to do a lot of jobs which you could learn through self study. Unfortunately, most places use degrees as barriers of entry.

What classes and/or what areas of study are you going for?

I'm interested in getting a degree in computer science and/or drafting and design.

I don't see myself in getting a job with minimum wage where I can't afford anything where I have bills to pay and I'll be stuck with nothing to do. Hopefully a degree can help me get in a good position.

College major doesn't really matter, at least for undergrad. It just depends. If your goal is to be an engineer, teacher, doctor, lawyer, your major may matter. If none of these then you can major in just about anything and it really will not matter. If you want to play it really safe just get a degree in business. Not many majors actually prepare a student for any one job in all honesty. Major doesn't really matter...but try to find a job while in school. any job. that way you have some work experience doing something. Good luck with jumping through life's hoops and loops.

I am hoping that the economy improves by the time I finish the degree. If it gets worse, or doesn't get better, I'm out of this country.
