It has been 6 weeks since I filed my claim. I've called the office multiple times, waited for an hour each time, and the answer I keep getting is "just wait." How long is this supposed to take? I have bills to pay! How do they expect people to wait 6+ weeks for money?!
And if I do get the letter saying that I will receive benefits, will I be waiting until the next day they pay out? Or will they give me my back-pay money immediately? This is kind of ridiculous, and very stressful.

We have so many stories on this forum on PA delays, they can't be counted.

PA is the worst state for processing claims, especially those that require any kind of documentation or review.

An ordinary claim shouldn't take six weeks. But, if your former employer has lagged in returning info to PA, if your claim requires a review for one reason or another, or PA doesn't have current wage info for you, it can take a looooong time.

You had better try to find out what the holdup is. Also, suggest you email all your state legislators on this. Six weeks is too long for any claimant to wait. We have several reports of instant action (within a week) when claimants have contacted their state representatives.
