Hello, I work a full-time seasonal job in NJ for 8 months and then collect unemployment. I also work a part-time job in NJ 1 day a week. My problem is that when I went to file today, it asks me several questions about my part-time job. I put that I work there hired as part-time and hours were not reduced and that I am still employed there. It asks me first day worked and LAST day worked there, but I am still working there. You have to put in a last day worked there or you cannot advance to next page. I put in "n/a", "00-00-0000", and even a future date, but does not accept any of these. Last year I had the same issue, but I had put the previous day that I had worked there as my "last day," but my application drew a flag as it did not know if I was still working there on not. I wound up having to go to the Unemployment Office to settle it and I would rather not go there again this year if possible. Any ideas? Anyone else have a similar situation? What to put for "last day worked" even tho I am still working there? Thanks so much!
PS I did not finish filing my claim as it timed me out.
You put the last day you worked there. Doesn't matter that you're still working there, just the very last time you worked there prior to filing this claim.
What happened last time can't be avoid because your part-time job will still be a base period employer and is subject to be charged for you benefits.
Thanks for your reply Chyvan. I just wanted to avoid what I had to do last year. I just don't understand why it asks "last day worked" when I checked off "hired as part time, no reduction in hours" and "still employed." Now I will have to try calling over and over and hope that I get through to someone, or go down in person to the Unemployment office.....ughhhhhh
