I just got a letter from EDD stating:

"Notification of Unemployment Insurance Benefits Eligibility Interview"

I haven't collected benefits for months now so I am relatively confused as to why I am receiving this.

It looks just like the letter I received when I first filed in the beginning of last year.

The questions on the back are as follows.

What types of payment did you receive
How much was the payment before taxes were taken out
What is the name and phone number of the employer making the payment.

A bit confused I have an interview scheduled for Tuesday and I am just trying to figure out why. Could this be that it is a preemptive measure to the reinstitution of the EUC program?

Thanks in advance

Wishful thinking. No reinstitution of EUC. GOP in the House does NOT want it and load any new legislation with so many poison pills they know the Democrats won't vote for it, either.

No idea why you got that letter - unless your claim has expired and CA has opened a new claim for you.

My claim expired in mid 2013.

They open a new claim automatically, even if i have not submitted one?

They will open a new claim at the bye if there are eligible earnings and you've been claiming up to that point.

If your claim expired mid-2013, the letter is a computer mixup. CA upgraded its software last September and nothing has been right since.

Let us know what the interviewer says, if they call.

Sorry! A bit confused at what date would the "bye" be established?

Im just worried that are going to want me to repay something, that is the last thing I need.

The form they sent me is labeled: DE 4800

Does CA offset because of 401K withdrawals? Did you take any retirement money?

Nope, no 401k no retirement. Is this an interview to see if I collected money when I shouldn't have? I know there was a two day lapse from when i was hired to when I stopped collecting, but I made no money, so there was no need to report it.

If they suspected that I have been over paid would this be the first step in the process?

It may be an overpayment inquiry on that final week.

Those two days may be the issue. Did you really work for free those days? You're supposed to report what you would have earned for those days regardless of when you actually got paid for them.
