GA - Unemployment Benefits - Newbie (collecting, apply)

Hi all,

Looking for advise before I start registering for Unemployment benefits (UB).

I have been out of job for around 1.5 months, but looking for job aggressively. Did not thought to apply for Unemployment benefits until one of my friend told me to apply. So, my questions are

1) Am I too late to apply for U.B. ?

2) By collecting UB, is there any negative impact on my future job or credit score ?
