Hi, my company paid severance has resulted in a waiting period of 12.5 weeks. Do I continue to file or wait until the first week with benefits has ended? Thanks for any insight as this is not at all clear in the PA UC guidebook or on their site.

Don't file.

REopen the claim when you're severance offset is up.

Also, do NOT look for work during this time. You save your job search for while you're in claim status. If you look for work while on severance delay, you'll just burn through all the good jobs in town and then have to apply for crap work that you might get and put your UI claim at risk if you get forced into borderline unsuitable work.
