Under the PUA program in California, I was awarded $167 a week.

I faxed them my 1099 form from 2019, which is what an EDD rep told me to do, and sent them a separate email to tell them my income last year was higher than the $17K needed to be awarded the $167 weekly benefits but I still haven't heard back.

In order words, I'm trying to prove to them that my weekly benefit amount should be higher or doubled that of $167 because I made $35K last year. What should I do?

Ps- Could this be because I haven't done my 2019 taxes yet. The deadline was moved to June 15th in CA, so I decided to do them in early June.

When did you fax it? It could take a few weeks to adjust your benefit.

Also, taxes are not due until July 15. (Both CA & Federal)

May 11th is only a few weeks ago plus there was a holiday weekend. They're so swamped, it could take a few more weeks. If you haven't already, message them on UI Online (ask edd) to confirm you faxed it on May 11th and want to know the status. It'll probably take awhile to get an answer too--but, you can also call.

When they do get around to it, you should see your payment change online (including additional payment for weeks already paid) & receive a confirmation by mail of the adjustment (not 100% sure how that will happen since it's PUA).
