All old news! This is the story you should be following, If this passes it will be a done deal in the house and even if it doesn't it will probably be a done deal with the other bill anyways. rjca is on the money I do believe.
Great, another round of cloture. Well, like diogirl suggests, either this means he truly believes he has the 60 votes or it means he's going to make the republicans the bad guy just one more time. "Republicans Hate The Unemployed."
Then, the house bill goes through, goes to the Senate, they rush it through (no cloture) and the head line reads "Democrats forced to use majority rule to pass unemployment--republicans hate unemployed."
That's my opinion of course but everything seems to be pointing in that direction.

Republicans can't filibuster the House stand-alone bill?

You would think the Republicans would play this smart and all vote for it. They should know what is going on.
Ill be honest, I'm usually the optimistic one. I think Reid is using this bill to put the GOP on the spot so that they can't hide behind the whole hr 4213. So reid can pull the "see they voted no for unemployment extensions on their own"
why is he invoking cloture instead of just passing it with a simple majority? does he have the votes? especially without it being paid for? what has changed that will allow the senate to pass it?
So did he or didnt he?? This thread is so confusing ... one person says he did, another says he didnt. I wish this thread was about facts and not so many opinions....
Will this pass by the end of the week, give me some odds?
I just finished my first tier, this week, hoping I will have some cash flow in the coming weeks...
