Is this a Joke or what? Jobs numbers have not gotten any better to the extent that it makes much difference to 98% of us who have been unemployed for well over a year. This seems to be the same ole same ole.
They will do there little dance maybe for another week or so then pass it before the end of June. I hope I'm wrong but this seems the way it has been going for several months. The two parties that just can't get along and we have been caught in the middle. We are at their mercy NOW, BUT we should all remember how this has taken it's toll on thousands of americans next time we VOTE. It may be the same with the new people in charge but thet will have their chance and if they can't do the job then they get the boot until they FINALLY realize that WE have the final say when it comes to who is in charge. No matter what happens with this bill or the next don't complain if you are not willing to go out and vote it's your right that's why we are called the UNITED STATES!
If Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) comes up short on the 60 votes needed to pass HR 4213, he will consider eliminating the $25 weekly FAC payment, aides said.

Two comments of interest in this article:
• Asked last Thursday why the Senate is not moving with more urgency on HR 4213, Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) noted that the Senate actually passed a more deficit-heavy version of the bill back in March, but since then monthly reports from the Labor Department have continued to show modest job gains. "We had Republican support for the original bill but now we are finding less support from the Republican caucus," she said.
• After Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) filed for cloture on HR 4213 Monday afternoon, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) asked for "unanimous consent" to move a bill providing a 30-day extension of federal unemployment benefits and other programs.
As Senate Democrats near a test vote on a $140 billion tax-and-benefits package, they still don’t have the 60 votes necessary to advance the bill.

Congress will probably pass another 30-day extension before 4213 is passed.
The new law will go into effect with its deadline already passed/past! LMFAO

The Hill.com is reporting that Senate Democrats are still coming up short this evening on votes to end debate on HR 4213 on Wednesday. An aide said that Democrats are expected to hold the cloture vote, and then suggest changes if it fails. Cloture could be filed again on the bill if the vote fails on Wednesday.
