I have decided to "come out" and reverse my "skeptical" tendencies by revealing that I am (and have been for some time) a member of the "Flat Earth Society." That said, I believe that the Earth is indeed "flat" (not a round or oblong globe) and invite posts that agree (or disagree) with this theory. Please provide reasons for your thoughts.
Too much evidence to the contrary, my friend.
Gosh, even the camera on the eagle shows a curved horizon...so sorry.
But, I do believe there is a place people fall off of....
You called it a theory, could you give us more on this theory? Does this theory clash with the hollow earth theory? How does it reconcile with the plate tectonics theory?
To encourage further discourse I offer a brief history of the "Flat Earth" movement.
As a "skeptic" it has taken me quite some time to convince myself that the planet Earth is indeed flat and has been so for many years.
The "pseudoscientific flat earth hypothesis" was originated by the English writer Samuel Rowbotham. He published a sixteen page paper "Zetetic Astronomy" which grew into the now famous and extensively read book; "Earth Not a Globe." He has also written the iconoclastic: "The Inconsistency of Modern Astronomy and it's Opposition to the Scriptures." His successful use of pseudoscience and the implementation of the Bedford Level Experiment has proven beyond a doubt that the Earth is flat.
In response to those who site the issue of satellite images which show the Earth as a sphere; highly respected English sign painter; Samuel Shenton explained "...It's easy to see how a photograph like that could fool the untrained eye." An unapologetic Shenton also claimed that the Apollo Moon landings were a hoax staged by Hollywood.
The Flat Earth Society now numbers over 4,000 dedicated members. A truce testament to the validity of the Flat Earth Theory. How could they all be wrong?

Also, how would you define flat?
Surely you are aware that Samual Rowbotham's book "Earth Not a Globe clearly describes that: "...the Earth is a flat disc centered at the North Pole and bounded along it's southern edge by a wall of ice (Antarctica), with the Sun and Moon 3,100 miles above Earth." Common sense (and the scriptures) clearly support this.Hollow Earth and Plate Tectonics are also fully compatible with a Flat Earth.

Crowds are wrong all the time. I saw thousands cheering Katy Perry at the super bowel. (Not a misspelling.) Mob stupidity has a long tradition.
