It also made a series of two right-angled turns without losing any speed. Not even a curved change of direction; just an abrupt right-angled turn, first to one side, then back on to its original bearing. Then it proceeded off the horizon. This was no local plane. There was no sound, no high-altitude contrails. It was travelling fast, had no flashing recognition or anti-collision lights on board, and looked just exactly like what you'd now call a satellite. Aside from the instant, mind-splattering high-speed directional changes.[/quote]
Interesting. While on a night training exercise at Camp Pendleton, CA, our entire squad (13 men) saw the same thing in 1959. When we sat down to watch the "show", a snake crawled up the pantleg of one of the guys, making the event that much more memorable.
I would have to agree that given the sheer number of stars out there, many planets supporting life as we know it, or even life as we don't know it, are highly likely to exist. There is nothing really special about our little dirt clod in the universe.
I also highly doubt that intelligent life has visited earth. Any civilization that visits would need to have figured out how to manipulate space-time, as any propulsion technology, even ones 100 times faster than the best we currently have would not be feasible. Maybe a wormhole generator would work. Or a quantum entanglement teleportation mechanism. Or some technology we haven't even begun to comprehend yet.
If aliens have visited here, how come nobody has captured any convincing evidence? There's been hundreds (thousands?) of "sightings" over many decades, but the best anybody and do is a grainy black & white photo of a football tossed in the air?
I don't know if I believe in aliens visiting local farms or anything like that BUT I find it hard to believe that in a universe with BILLIONS of galaxies, that there is no life out there other than our own. Plus they have found evidence of bacteria like organisms on other planets and such before. If it could happen here, it could happen somewhere else.
I believe that there is a high probability of life existing elsewhere...however, i don't think that we've been visited...yet......
Based on our laws of physics, it'd be a waste to travel for so long and not make contact...direct contact.....once you're here! (unless you take into account worm holes and such...which would make the travel time obsolete)
iv'e seen some weird lights in the sky but can't realy say i've seen a definite ufo... just wondering if some of you have seen a real space ship. my ship is kinda leaky but still runs good..
Do you know what UFO stands for? It is not a question if they exist or not. The real question is "do you believe earth has been visited by aliens?
A UFO can be anything, not only alien spaceships!
No. The millions of people who have said they have seen them are just seeing planes. Of course they exist! You cant call astronauts, military people, pilots...all these very credible people who KNOW what planes and helicopters look like...all liars. I saw a show a few weeks ago where a few pilots were seeing a ufo out the cockpit window, and it was actually following them and changing shapes before it just disappeared. Not took off at the speed of light..but just poof...gone! You have to believe that as far along as humans are, there are hundreds if not thousands of species out there who may be millions of years more advanced then we are. As hard as it is for our puny, underdeveloped brains to comprehend space and inter-dimensional travel, these aliens do it as easily as we drive to the grocery store.
At least its a good sign that the ones who do visit, have not tried to destroy us. I think they may need things from our planet to survive, or power their crafts. That is why they are not hostile to us.

i think there all hiding under antartica's ross ice shelf. not to much people up there living under those ice shelves
Well that's the thing about 'belief.' It means nothing. It doesn't matter what you or I believe. It will not change reality. Either alien life is out there and it has 'visited' earth... or not. You're belief will not change it one way or the other.
I will say that if an alien life form exists, which has the ability to travel through space and reach our planet, they would have little reason to visit this planet, other than diversionary amusement, I'd assume. That alien life form would be so advanced that we would seem to them something like ants seem to us--if even that. When was the last time you visited an anthill? And if you did, was it because you wanted to communicate with the ants? Did you wish to learn something from them?
Think about it. Would we have anything more to offer intergalactic travelers than an ant has to offer us? Probably not. So next time you see that alien craft, just consider yourself as being part of a big spherical ant farm.

Well said. interesting thought.
i agree with you; although i do believe that they would potentially have 'some' interest in us, as we do in ant colonies. (people actually DO study ant colonies)
however, i think it's unlikely that they would have visited without leaving absolute evidence behind.
