Do you speak Hungarian? I don't but a friend who does notes that all or almost all Hungarian words are accented on the last syllable, making the speaker sound somewhat agitated to people who don't speak Hungarian. Getting back on topic - my Mom's family is from Scotland, and they are frugal in the sense that they know the value of things, won't over-pay. They can also be quite generous if they decide you merit it.
