Wales seems to be forgotten in the UK forum. Why is that?

Think "caerphilly" before you reply!

I don't know, you raise a good point. Maybe there are no Welsh members on the forum? I'm at a point where I recognise quite a few of the regular posters now. I can't recall seeing anybody from Wales.

I live in Wales (from Birmingham originally). Beautiful country, wide open spaces, hills, mountains, world-class beaches on The Gower and in Pembrokeshire. Cardiff (where I live) also one of the best all round cities in the UK with some of the finest urban parkland you'll see, impressive sporting facilities (such as millenium stadium) and great recreational facilities down in the bayside area (like the whitewater rafting centre), definitely punches above its weight for a city of 400,000 people, with lots of money spent here on fancy architecture and excellent public transport being the Welsh Capital. Economy not very strong though, which I guess is why few questions relating to relocation here. Many of the Welsh are fiercely proud of their national culture and identity, maybe doesn't absorb outsiders as easily as many other parts of the UK. And man, can it rain here....

My grandfather's family was Welsh, but they left for America in the 1700s.

The Welsh countryside looks beautiful in photos.

Funny thing, I have a friend whose parents migrated from England and Wales to America in the 1960s. She looks like her father, who was Welsh. She was always mistaken for being my sister every time we were out somewhere together.

That happens in Rockport, Maine (USA), too.

Don't know why people wouldn't want to atleast check it out when they're over there. It's not as if it's a big journey.
